A bunch of prisoners find themselves in a difficult
situation when the latest convict turns out to be
a flesh-eating monster. Together with a female guard,
they have to hurry up and find a way out of this
prison, but will they be able to get out before the
monster catches them all?

Just a couple of days ago, I watched a pretty bad
zombie flick produced by The Asylum called "Dead Men
Walking". Well, I guess that the small production
company were happy with their set as this movie was
obviously shot in the exact same prison. It did
seem however as if there was more time spent on making
Dead Men Walking than this terrible horror flick
about a man who turns into a monster every now and
then. There is very little plot and the special
effects are just abysmal, especially the pathetic
transformation scenes.

The Asylum is definitely losing grounds rapidly as
their recent productions have felt very repetitive
and unoriginal. It was entertaining at first but it
seems as if they're running out of ideas. Shapeshifter
is a very unoriginal movie and I think I saw something
pretty much exactly like this back in 2001, but
I just can't seem to remember the title of that one.
Anyway, the acting is surprisingly bad for an Asylum
production. You don't root for any of the characters
and there really aren't any real characters in here
anyway, not even stereotypes, it's basically just a
bunch of people running around getting killed by a
werewolf-looking monster.

While I'm not a big fan of monster movies in general,
I do think that The Asylum should have been able to
make something more than this. There was just too
little story and too many flaws in it to make it worth
the while. I was pretty much just bored through the
entire movie as there wasn't really anything that
kept my interest up. A very nonsense movie if you ask
me, I definitely advice you to stay away from this
even if you liked "Dead Men Walking".

We get lots of gory intestines, not a big surprise
considering that The Asylum productions seem to love
intestines and guts pouring out of people's bodies.

Very distorted soundtrack with weird piano music and
no real melodies. Not good, just very weird.

Well this was a tragic waste of time. I guess I'm
just sick of watching people turning into massive
furry demonic monsters. It didn't exactly help that
this movie didn't have much of a story and a very
weak cast with pale characteristics either. Stay away
from this unless you find torturing yourself fun.
It's just a very dull movie.
