It's high season on Mallorca, a tropical island
in the Mediterranean sea, and Maya is looking
forward to jet skiing all the summer long with
her friends. Unfortunately for her, this summer
is going to be something out of the ordinary
when a megalodon shows up and starts munching
away on the tourists.

A short sequence from MEG has been spread all
over the net, showing us a giant shark attacking
a helicopter, and man is this an awesome scene
or what? Well, after watching this German TV-flick
I can confirm that this sequence is not from MEG
but from this little shark movie which was much
more entertaining than I expected it to be.

Killer shark movies have become repetitive and
cheap throughout the years and it seems as if
the only way to attract an audience to a shark
flick these days is to make the shark massive,
and that is something which this movie has
succeeded in. Shark Attack 3: Megalodon might
have had a big shark in it but this one took
the price.

Unfortunately, all greatness comes with a cost.
It's difficult for a shark of this size to
attack one or two people since it doesn't even
have to munch its victims before swallowing
them - which leaves the viewer wanting more,
and not in a good way. There is close to
no gore in this movie which made it feel
more like a Sci-Fi/Action flick than a
horror movie. However, this didn't bother
me too much due to the awesome special effects.

The acting was an absolute mess and the story
had no originality in it what-so-ever, but this
is just something which I've learnt to accept
with shark flicks as of recently. If you can
enjoy mindless action and a ridiculously huge
shark, you can definitely enjoy this German
TV-movie, which I hope will find US distribution
sometime soon. A movie for true killer shark fans.

Close to no gore, only a bit off head.

Since the movie takes place in Mallorca there
is naturally a lot of dance music in this movie,
which is surprisingly up-to-date. We also get
some soul music and some tacky pop-music.
Overall, this was a decent score though.

Entertaining but unoriginal shark flick which
will force you to relax your brain for a while
for you to be able to enjoy this movie. You
can't expect much more from shark flicks these
days so if you are a killer shark fan, check
this one out.
