Shaun is 29 years old. He lives with his friend and
has a dead end job. His girlfriend is on the edge
of breaking up with him all the time and one day
she gets enough. Now there seems to be nothing left
for poor Shaun and on top of that the streets are
filling up with zombies. The only way to kill them
is apparently by removing their heads or destroying
their brains. Shaun and his friend decides to go
rescue his mother and to get Shaun's girlfriend back
again. It's going to be an eventful day for Shaun.

One of the most hyped movies of 2004 I think. This
Dawn Of The Dead spoof actually pays respect to
the movie that it's making fun of, something that
Scary Movie failed to do and I was very happy to
see that. Shaun Of The Dead was released only two
weeks after Dawn Of The Dead in the UK and actually
made more money than Dawn did. Impressive to say
the least. This horror spoof managed to keep the
humour above a three-graders level and didn't throw
in stupid and obvious "American Pie" like jokes.
I think it deserves a hand just for that.

There's really nothing special about the directing
though. You can easily tell that it's not a high
budget production from the camerawork. It's all
very basic and simple. The film does look very
good though. The acting is the best thing about
the movie, you don't just want Shaun to survive,
you actually grow to like almost everybody! Which
in one way is a pity. My favourite character was
actually Barbara, Shaun's mother, I loved it when
Shaun was explaining his plan to his friends and
we get to see Barbara running happy out of her
house despite the fact that her son just killed
her husband (don't worry, that's not a spoiler).
You will understand what I mean when you see it.

This is the best horror comedy that I've seen since
Psycho Beach Party and we all know how many horror-
comedies that have been released since that movie
came out. Well, unless you count Undead, this and
Undead are pretty much equal in humour and entertainment,
and in story for that matter. But I still feel that
some people make this out to be the comedy of the
century, which it isn't. It provides a couple of
giggles but I only laughed out loudly once and that
was somewhere in the last five minutes. It's really
a good movie though and I highly recommend it.

What the? This was actually gory! We get to see some
zombies tear the guts out from a guys stomach, and
believe you me, it is graphical. We also get to see
some people lose their body parts in various ways. The
zombies are pretty gory too, like one zombie that
only has one arm. Pretty neat. My favourite gore
scene has to be the impalement in the beginning
though, that scene was priceless.

There's some rock music and a lot of electro-pop music
in here and all in all the soundtrack is pretty damn
good but you'll forget all about the previous music
played in the background when you get to the jukebox
action scene. Having a Queen track played in the
main action sequence was a very nice touch and that
will probably be the scene that I will always remember
from this movie. Another priceless scene.

Just as good as the movie that it spoofs. In fact,
this is one of the best horrorspoofs ever. I knew
from all reviews that I had read that it would be
good and so I got what I expected. If you're sick
of horror spoofs that mock horrormovies, this is
one movie you might find satisfying. It's more like
a funny homage to horrormovies than a mockery.
Check this out as soon as possible.

The bad quality is because the stills are taken from the trailer.
