A couple of friends go to a remote cabin in the woods for
a weekend of fun and drinking. What they don't know is that
a killer scarecrow is out there waiting for them. When
the body count begins, it doesn't seem as if any of the
friends are going to survive.

For the last couple of years we have seen bunches of killer
scarecrow horror flicks and Skarecrow is pretty much like
the rest of them - no real plot and a killer scarecrow offing
a bunch of stupid, drunk teens. This still hasn't been
officially released and you can easily tell that it's an
amateur production. The scarecrow itself looks anything
but scary, and even though it's supposed to be a supernatural
scarecrow, you can easily tell that it's just a guy in a
cheap scarecrow outfit.
There are a couple of plot holes, even though there's no
real plot in it. For example, why would anyone have a
scarecrow standing in the middle of nowhere? I mean, it's
not like there was any corn to protect around. The movie
is only approximately 75 minutes long and it's still very
difficult to sit through the entire movie. I mean, a bad
and dull story is one thing but terrible camerawork is
inexcusable since bad camerawork can ruin any good movie.
It's not the low budget that this movie has against it,
it's the fact that the director has no clue what he's doing,
I mean, you can't zoom while recording. That just gives
the movie a homemade look to it.
What's even worse than the directing however, is the acting.
The characters are very unlike-able, and as if that wasn't
enough, the actors never seem even remotely scared (even
though they're obviously trying their best to look so).
It feels like a bunch of friends basically got together
and decided to make a movie since they had nothing better
to do. In the end, Skarecrow is just another pathetic
homemade amateur slasher flick with very little to offer.
Don't bother with this one.

The special effects are relatively good and we get a gory
decapitation, a hand off chopped off, intestines, a hand
through ones stomach and some more.

I'll have to admit that I liked the rock music in this flick.
The suspense score however sounded very MIDI but works
good enough.

Terrible amateur slasher flick about a killer scarecrow
with a very ludicrous plot. I'm not surprised that this
hasn't found distribution yet, though Lions Gate will
probably pick this one up shortly and re-title it "Dark
Harvest 3". Avoid this flick.
