Tomas and two
of his friends go to see the supposed
witch who lives outside town, but when they're
discovered sneaking around, the friends run away
while Tomas trips and ends up lying on the ground.
He wakes up in Moria's bed, a beautiful woman who's
very kind to him. Could she really be a witch?

Okay this is a tough movie to describe without spoiling
anything, which is why the description might be a bit
dull. Spectre focuses on Tomas, both as a teenager and
over forty years later as an old man. The movie shifts
back and fourth between the past and the present and
the goal of the movie is basically to find out why
Tomas is now being haunted by the spirit of Moria,
and what caused her death.
This is the second film from this anthology that
I watch and, once again, I'm a bit surprised that
there's not a whole lot of horror to be found in here.
From the writer of Thesis and Abre Los Ojos comes
this disappointing drama-thriller that's so predictable
that you've guessed the entire plot within the first
five minutes. If I had to describe Spectre in one
sentence I would say that "it's like a big Christmas
gift wrapped in the most beautiful paper, but when
you open it, it's just a six-pack of beer".
The movie is beautifully shot with top-notch
cinematography which is a treat for the eye and it's
really a shame that the end result isn't more thrilling
than it is. Following Tomas life quickly gets dull
and since you've all ready guessed what's going to
happen next, it's hard to stay focused. Perhaps the
reason as to why I was so underwhelmed was due to the
fact that I went in expecting a horror flick, I actually
believe that this would have done better had it been
a free-standing movie.
Spectre is, in the end, another watchable mystery
thriller, but at the same time very forgettable. Oh
and trust me, at 2AM in the morning, there's no way
that this movie would have managed to keep me awake.
If you enjoy artsy drama-thrillers, check it out,
you'll probably like it, but don't expect a horror
flick because it's not.

Nada.

Fairly decent score while far from as powerful as it
should have been. These kind of movies need lots of
strings to create a great atmosphere, something which
this didn't have.

Watchable but disappointing drama-thriller which is
probably great for the artsy horror fan, but not so
good for the mainstream audience. It hasn't got any
oomph and the entire movie is just too predictable
for its own good. On the other hand, I bet some of
you will love this one.
