George is a
loving father of two and a devoted
husband. He's just about to undergo a routine
surgery but has been very nervous about it. Well
he should be. He wakes up at the hospital only to
find out that the surgery has gone wrong and that
there's been a mix-up. It seems as if the entire
hospital staff is against him and wants to see him
dead. But why? Will his family be able to save him?

I was one of the few people who actually liked Raw
Feed's first feature film, Rest Stop, so I was really
looking forward to seeing what they would release
next. Unfortunately, Sublime is nothing like Rest
Stop and I'm not even sure why they decided to release
an Unrated version of it as there wasn't anything
to cut out in the first place. See, Sublime isn't
really a horror movie like the cover suggests. It's
a two-hour (yes!! two-hour) long drama that feels
like a disturbingly long episode of some dull hospital
TV-show. Well, that's not fair, I've yet to see a
hospital TV-show this dull!
Sublime tells the story of George Grieves, a normal
man with a loving family. He's about to undergo a
routine operation but wakes up with a scar in his
stomach. He finds out that there's been a mix-up and
that the hospital has done malpractice on him more
or less. The movie switches between flashbacks and
present and neither is very entertaining. The
flashbacks added little, if anything, to the plot
which made them feel unnecessary. The present is
perhaps even less necessary as the ending explains
that everything we've just seen was just a lie.
You all know how I love those kind of endings by now
(yeah, I am being sarcastic). The movie does however
look visually decent, though nowhere near as good as
Rest Stop did. It was obvious that there wasn't as
much effort put into this as Rest Stop. The acting
is, well it's sub-par. But my point is that Sublime
had the potential to be a decent (not great) horror
flick. But for some reason the director, or the
writer, or whoever, didn't realize that they were
making a movie for a horror label.
Ultimately, Sublime is a bore. It will without a
doubt be a disappointment to the horror crowd as it
has very few horror elements in it. It's got no
gore at all and it lacks in just about every
department (suspense, atmosphere etc). Skip this
Raw Feed production and let's hope that their next
movie is more horror-oriented.

Nothing. And I saw the unrated version.

Again, TV-drama stuff.

Sublime is excruciatingly boring. It's like a two
hour long TV-show that doesn't go anywhere. The
ending is underwhelming and there are hardly any
horror elements in it. A disappointment from Raw
Feed Productions, hopefully their next film will
be better than this or this company won't be long-lived.
