Marley's
parents died in a car crash a year ago and ever
since then she's been hearing and seeing things that
aren't there. Her uncle gets worried and hires a top-notch
psychologist to help Marley but what she's about to
discover is something much more terrifying than just a
troubled little girl.

We have two TV-channels out there churning out horror
flicks. One is the Sci-Fi channel which produces CGI
animated crap for most of the time and the second one
is Lifetime Channel which has impressed me with their
fairly entertaining PG-13 horror flicks. Just like
with Devil's Diary and Nightmare, They Come Back is a
stellar ghost story which doesn't do anything daring
or over the top, it's simply a perfect TV-film. I'm
not saying that it's a great film but as a TV-film,
it fills just the right criteria’s. A TV-film shouldn't
be too exciting or gory, it's a movie to rest your eyes
on and relax with a nice cup of cocoa to.
They Come Back tells the story of a young girl named
Marley whose parents died in a tragic car crash a year
ago. Ever since then Marley has been suffering from
hearing voices and seeing things that aren't there and
her uncle is starting to get worried. They hire
psychologist Faith Hardy to see if she can help Marly
but Faith has problems of her own involving ghosts.
This isn't a scary horror flick, it's actually almost
too sweet at times - even for a TV-flick. The ghost
isn't very harmful and all it really does is break
some stuff. Still, the script is solid enough to keep
the viewer interested and the actors all deliver
pretty solid performances.
Yes, They Come Back sure is a neat little TV-film. Had
I rented it on DVD I would probably have hated it but
the difference between DTV and TV films is that TV
films shouldn't be too violent because usually when
you watch TV, you're pretty sleepy and just want to
relax and that's just what They Come Back allows you to
do. It's a movie you can watch with your parents, your
girlfriend, your boyfriend or even your dog. No one
will think it's anything special but everyone will
be able to watch it until the end without any problems.
If this is released on DVD however, I'd avoid it, it's
certainly nothing out of the ordinary. It's a TV-film
and that's all it really is. If you catch it on TV
you may as well give it a chance, I'm sure you'll watch
the entire thing once you've started but if you miss
it, it doesn't really matter that much.

Nope.

Good score, gives the movie a nice calm feeling.

They Come Back is a stellar mystery thriller which can
be viewed by people of all ages. It's not the most
thrilling horror flick out there but after having
watched a movie with buckets of gore in it, it's nice
to rest your eyes on something a little less adrenaline
filled. A nice movie for the entire family.
