One year ago,
Melinda witnessed her mothers murder. Now at her party
more of her friends are murdered, so she and her surviving friends
decide to go to a countryside home until things cool down a bit, but
unfortunately they are followed.
To Become One
is one of those stinkers that tries to be different
from your average slasher movie and just ends up becoming worse.
It was hard to describe the plot to this one without going into spoilers.
Lets just say about halfway through it stops becoming a slasher movie
and turns into something else, something awful. I tried to like this movie,
I wanted to give it a chance, I thought it was all right for the first
fifteen minutes, some fairly ok suspense scenes and one or two nice kills,
but it just kept getting worse and worse.
As for characters, forget about them, as I have said the first half of
this movie is the only slasher element so pretty much everyone is dead
by the forty minute mark, you don’t get much time to know them, or even
catch their name. It then turns into some sort of drama about a cult.
The directing is all right, I found the first to killing to be quite
bareable, but after that it all got lazy, mainly point and shot the whole way.
I really can’t find it in me at all to recommend this movie for any reason;
it’s just bad, very boring and dull, painful to watch at time. The back of
the box may seem spoiler heavy, but don’t worry, it only gives away the
first 40 minutes of the movie. I’d say To Become One might have been a two
star movie if they just made the first forty minutes the entire movie,
but it’s the last fifty minutes that really drag this down, I’m positive
this is going to be the worst movie of 2003.

It opens with a slick chop in half but that’s the only decent piece of gore
in this movie, we get a few very fake neck slashings, some bloodless
impalements and a burnt up corpse.

Nothing
memorable at all.

Trash,
utter trash, avoid it at all costs, starts ok but goes downhill FAST.
