Five random people have been selected to
participate in an experiment, in reward they
will get a hundred thousand quid. After they've
all agreed to do it they are locked inside a
house where they will be able to outlive all
of their wildest fantasies. Unfortunately, one
of the participants has some darker fantasies
than the rest of them.

Judging from the title and the cover of this
movie, I was pretty certain that I was in for
an ultra low-budget splatter-fest. Luckily,
the cover is the worst thing about this movie.
Sure, I was right about it being ultra low-budget
but it's anything but a cheesy splatter-fest
(even though the climax is quite bloody). What
I got was a well thought-out horror flick with
an original and clever story. It's obvious that
a lot of heart and soul was put into making this
flick and that really made this movie worth
while even though it has quite a few problems.

Even though I didn't mind the low budget, it
still worked against the movie many times as
there are some unnecessary and awful CG-effects
in here that I could have done without. Also,
while the acting is better than expected, the
characters are stiff and shallow and we don't
really get to root for any of them, no matter
how hard they're all trying. This brought the
movie down a lot. It looks as if this was shot
with a home DV-cam but the director manages to
do the best with the material he's got.

Ultimately, Trashhouse was a whole lot better
than I had expected but there were times when
I was struggling to stay interested. Hopefully
the director will get better funding next time
because he sure has it in him to make a good
film. This is definitely worth a shot if you
don't mind a low budget and cheap effects.

A lot of blood splatter and a decapitation.

Yeah I'm not a big metal fan so I didn't think
the score was too good.

This was definitely not what I had expected -
and that's a good thing. If you don't mind a
low budget and cheap special effects, give this
one a chance as it's got more to offer than a
lot of theatrical horror flicks have these days.
