Two snakes feed on some drugs which makes them grow quickly,
meanwhile, a couple of friends are heading out for a jungle
expedition, unknowing of the terror that awaits them. It doesn't
take long before the body count begins and the friends start
realizing that the best thing to do is try to get back to the
village, but when one of them gets wounded, getting back might
be easier said than done.

Thailand has puked out yet another disastrous horror flick and
I bet that this isn't the last one either. The poster and trailer
for The Trek promises us a cool snake horror flick but the snakes
are actually surprisingly absent. A more suiting title for this
flick would be "The Jungle From Hell" because before we get to
see any giant killer snakes we are introduced to flesh eating
centipedes, ravenous scorpions, angry spiders and a swarm of killer
bees. Well these things might not be so rare in Thai jungles but
why I would like to call this movie "The Jungle From Hell" is
because every single creature in this movie seems to want to crawl
into people's mouths and eat them up, this is not very normal
insect behaviour. Anyway, so after 68 minutes of various killer
insects the killer snakes finally take their first victim, a white
poodle. This is just beyond abysmal!

The acting is absolutely horrid! For some reason they have decided
to throw in two English speaking "actors" who don't understand any
Thai at all and therefore have very little dialogue in the movie.
It didn't help that the subtitles were abysmal either, when the
English speaking actors would say something, the subtitles would
say something completely different which made me very sceptical
towards the rest of the dialogue. The directing is all right but
the movie is way too dark and might as well have been shot in the
80s. The DVD I watched was blurry and looked like a bad CAM recorded
directly off a cinema.

What I've learnt from this movie is that:
1. Chickens and roosters are common in Thai jungles.
2. Thai insects are evil creatures who wants to kill everybody.
3. Anacondas have big sharp razor teeth.
4. If you get bitten in your leg you will cough blood.
5. Drug dealers occasionally poor amphetamine into the rivers.
6. It's common to find paintings lying around in the jungle.

I hope that you've learnt from reading my review that you should
not see this movie. It is absolutely horrible.

A severed head and a half body. Not very gory.

This got on my nerves so badly! Possibly the worst soundtrack
ever made! The main theme consists of 5 tones being repeated
after each other, again and again and again and again. Then we
have some Thai songs and some very out of place ambient music.

I've grown to hate creature features recently, most of them
really are pathetic as hell. Occasionally we get a pretty
decent creature feature but for most of the time we get crap
like this! This Thai movie was absolutely horrid and not
worth your money! Believe you me!
