The small fishing village Berkeley is attacked by meteors
crashing down from above. The consequences aren't just
shallow but people also start turning into zombies as a
result of the unexpected weather change. A couple of
various people are now trapped inside a house and have
to find a way to survive and when you live so close up
on eachother, conflicts are almost unavoidable. Soon they
realise that the meteors and zombies aren't their only
worries and the terror is a fact.

I cannot express in words what I just witnessed. I've
learned not to trust good hype after such accidents as
FearDotCom, Darkness Falls and Cabin Fever, but this one
sure as hell lived up to its hype. I was caught from the
moment it started as it opens up with one of the most
humorous opening scenes ever, I don't know if that was
intentional or not but it sure as hell was funny. Now,
let me just say that I usually hate zombie flicks, I don't
think I've ever really enjoyed one till' this day, well
I can't count 28 Days Later as a zombie film, but there
was something special about this one.

It's amazing what Michael and Peter Spierig has done with
the low budget that they had. This looks like it was done
on a budget well over 20 million dollars and what's even
more amazing is that this is their first movie ever. To
tell you the truth I expected some cheesy independent
horrorfilm (well it did take a while for it to find
distribution so that's usually the case) but to my
surprise this looked incredibly good and the special
effects were simply extraordinary.

We rarely get horrormovies from Australia and when we
do get them occasionally, they usually have terrible
acting, this is not the case for Undead. Just like the
directors, most of the cast has never been involved with
a movie before and still they give us a great performance,
especially Felicity Mason and Emma Randall. I can give
nothing but compliments to this movie, this was an
experience that I'll never forget.

One gets a hole in the stomach, one gets their brains
ripped out, there are also quite a few beheadings and
cool, gory impalements. Some get split in half and
loose their guts and some get their arms or legs
dismembered. Not to worry, this movie has it all, you
asked for gore, you got it.

As I said, the first 30 minutes are quite funny and so
is the music, sounds like it belongs in a Disney film
but still it fits right in. We also get some rock music
and some techno music in the background. Good score.

Undead is one of those rare movies that actually live
up to its hype and actually surpasses it. This was a
zombie film that will go to the history. At first when
this new zombie wave came, I didn't like it but now
I'm all for it, if they continue like this that is. This
is not a movie to be missed so check it out now!
