Jack and Ching are newly-weds and have just moved into
their new apartment when Jack is hit by a car, leaving
Jack in a coma. After a couple of weeks he's still
recovering from the accident but he's on his legs and
life goes on with Ching. Soon he notices that something
weird is going on in their apartment, Ching is acting
all strange and it's almost as if their apartment is
haunted. He seeks help from his friend September and what
they discover is something much more complicated than
Jack could ever have imagined.

This was a rather good movie actually. Another one of
those movies where I have seen a sequel before the
original though I heard that this one is supposed to
be better than its predecessor. So what's this movie
really about? Well, it's not really a horrormovie
actually so it doesn't really belong on slasherpool
but I it does fall into the category dramathriller
and it does deliver some cheap scares so I thought
that I might aswell give it a review. It's a very
predictable, yet entertaining movie with a few powerful
dramatic scenes and that's what gave this movie its charm.

Focusing on the directing wasn't very difficult in this
movie since it's quite exceptional for being a Hong Kong
"horrormovie". Lately I have learned that Hong Kong
provides quantity more often than quality. This is not
the problem with Visible Secret 2, it looks really
great and the acting is excellent aswell. You root
for the three main characters almost instantly, especially
for the sweet little September who has to have the
prettiest little smile that I have ever seen.

I didn't find the first part of the movie very appealing
but like many other Asian movies, this manages to get
a hold of you right before you are about to shut the
film off. After that it becomes very dramatic and even
I felt sadness in one scene. It was all so cleverly
put together that I had a hard time disliking this,
suffice to say, it was not good enough to get a four
in rating from me. Perhaps a 3,5.

I don't even think I have to tell you that this is
drier than a hamburger without ketchup.

A beautiful theme song performed by Eason Chan grows
on you after the first time you hear it and stays
with you many hours after watching it. It was all
pretty silent though if you disregard the theme song,
except for some quite cool thumping sounds that you
might be able to call background music.

Powerful and gripping dramathriller with a small but
good cast and with splendid directing. Unfortunately
the movie becomes quite predictable towards the ending
and the first part of the movie wasn't exactly
extraordinary either for that matter but I do recommend
this one for anyone who wants to be able to relax to
a horrormovie for once.
