A young woman is struggling against cancer and her sister
decides that she should take her home so that she really can
enjoy what little time she has left rather than to spend it
in a hospital. She buys a wig for her so that she can go out
without having to feel ashamed of herself, what she doesn't
know is that the wig is cursed.

The Wig is the first real proof that Asia has really stopped
trying to be original. The movie's alternative title is even
"Scary Hair", I mean, have they just given up on being original
all in all? I for one would love to see a new Asian slasher
flick so that they can prove that they're still able to make
something which doesn't involve some creepy black hair. I've
simply had enough of it. The story is not original at all and
even if this would have been considered an instant classic if
it was made 3 years ago, this movie will fade from your memory
as soon as you have seen it just because you've seen the same
story too many times before.

I won't lie to you, the movie does have some really good scares
and the suspense will make you want to press the mute button
just so that you can relax. But the thing is, if it didn't have
the awesome sound mix, this wouldn't have had anything at all.
The movie does look amazing with brilliant photography and very
slick directing, but once again, we've seen all of this before.
The acting is, as expected, top notch and the characters are
relatively easy to root for. It might not be an original movie
at all, but the fact remains, that unoriginality doesn't make
this a bad movie.

This movie probably is a 4/5 rather than a 3/5 because the story
is very entertaining and the suspense is brilliant with plenty
of scares. For me however, this was nothing more than a predictable
horror flick with a script that we've seen way too many times
and when the line "The wig has a ghost in it" comes up, I couldn't
really do anything but to laugh at it. If you still haven't
grown sick of the entire ghost girl concept, this is definitely
worth checking out, but for me, this concept has expired and
is getting sour quickly. I hope that Asia pulls out of their
repetitive pattern and try to come up with something else soon.

We get a little gore in this actually with an impaled throat,
and a very gory head, well, you'd have to see it to understand
what I mean.

The music is annoyingly good with crystal clear piano melodies,
lovely choir music, and some hip-hop music surprisingly enough.

I've had it with these creepy ghost girl horror flicks. They're
no longer fun and even though this might be a scary movie, you
will have forgotten everything about it as soon as the end credits
start to roll, just because you've seen this so many times before.
If you still haven't had enough of creepy ghost girl flicks,
this is definitely worth checking out since it does have some
excellent scares in it but for me, this just felt like a nice
way to end the creepy ghost girl era.
