Claire is having
some problems with a guy that she recently
started dating so she seeks help from her three male friends.
They don't really know what to do since they are old friends
with the guy that she's having problems with. Even so they
decide to meet him in the woods and they'll just see what it
leads to... they never expected it to lead to someone dying.
Now the four friends have to stick together in order to
prevent getting caught. But there's one flaw in the pattern,
and that flaw has to be fixed. Winds can change quickly and
so can the trust for your best friend.

A couple of months back I found this movie's official homepage
and decided to ask the director for a screener. He replied by
saying how bad Slasherpool was and that I should just wait
until it comes out on DVD if I wanted to see it. Now, a simple
no would have been fine in my opinion. Anyway, now it's out
and so I decided to check it out and unfortunately I may say,
I kind of liked it. The story is pretty simple and the cast
spend almost half of the movies running time, just running
in the woods while some techno music is playing the background.
That might not sound that impressive but it actually works
quite well for the movie.
The camerawork is the best thing about the movie actually.
The running scenes in the woods look as if they have been
cut out from some high budget cinema movie and there's this
one scene where a guy jumps off a cliff and it's stunningly
well done. I actually have no complaints at all on the
directing. The acting is for most part pretty good. A lot
better than I had expected it to be. The girl playing
Claire stands out as the best actor/actress in this movie.
It's a good thing that the guy playing Bob was killed early
though, he didn't seem to have any acting skills at all.
So what could have been better? Well first of all, the story;
it didn't develop the way that I think it should have, and
also it's a bit too slow. There are times in the movie that
the dialogues and twists don't really seem to be of importance
and seem to be there just to kill running time. And why kill
running time by mixing in unimportant twists when you can
develop a longer and better ending instead? The end was cool
and powerful but it didn't seem like an end? We never get to
find out what happens afterwards and I never like to leave
much to the imagination. Anyway, I thought it was a pretty
entertaining movie, but it's not really horror, more of a
dramathriller, still it's worth a watch.

Some bloody beatings, nothing worse than that. It's quite
violent but there's not a lot of gore, you could tell that
they had decided to spend the money on the movie rather
than gory special effects.

As you all know by now I'm a big fan of techno music and
that's just what this movie delivers. Lots of heavy bass
and drums and it so works as well. I loved it, definitely
the best thing about the movie.

The Wind is a rather entertaining dramathriller with a
few too many conflicts between the main characters. If
you're in for a quite original dramathriller, this is
a pretty good choice though, it's a bit too uneventful
for my taste but all in all it's totally watchable.
Don't watch the trailer first though, doesn't give you
a good impression of the movie.
