Arthur is a lawyer. He's happily married and has
one son and one daughter. One day his boss sends
him off to a small town on the coast to sell a
house. On the funeral for the lady who lived in
the house he's almost the only one there, the
only two other people participating in the funeral
are an old man and an old lady dressed in black.
He soon realizes that the old lady wasn't
participating in the funeral, she was choosing
him as her next target. Arthur does not believe
in ghosts... but he soon will!

Checking out rare TV horror flicks from the 80s
are rarely a priority for me as you surely
understand. I've always said that rare movies
are rare for a reason. Though there are some
exceptions, here's one. The only reason to why
I decided to pick this up on eBay was because
many friends had recommended it and said that
it was the scariest and creepiest thing they've
ever seen. I have to partly agree with them,
this movie did bring me a lot of chills but
calling it the scariest horror movie ever would
be exaggerating. There are only two or three
really suspenseful scenes in the movie. Though
the mystery surrounding the movie is enough to
make this the creepiest TV-movie ever.

The Woman In Black actually plays a lot like
recent Asian horror movies do and when people
say that this is what horror should be like,
they're right. No matter how entertaining
watching a bunch of teens getting killed off
by a masked killer might be, this is really
true horror. It doesn't need gore, all it
does is creep you out and that's all that a
ghost horror flick should do. This flick
actually inspired me a lot and so right now
I'm working on a script which is pretty
similar to this so as you can see I definitely
liked this movie.

Now, many people might argue with my rating
of 4 instead of 5 but I felt that the movie
was very slow at times and it really didn't
need to be, it didn't add anything except for
pointless dead running time. The movie was a
bit too drawn out for my taste in other words.
However, this is still one of the creepiest
English spoken ghost movies in history so I
suggest you find yourself a copy of this on
eBay as soon as you can, the UK DVD is long out
of print and you'd have to pay almost 100
dollars for that. In the end of the day I came
out liking this more than I thought that I
would, it's a creepy story and this is simply
a good old fashioned ghost story.

Not a lot of gore, all we get to see is a girl
with bloody legs.

The intense score adds everything to the movie.
It basically consists of nerve-racking violin
music and it works brilliantly.

A TV-movie with a pretty simple story but works
perfectly since it manages to creep you out.
It does have its weak points but could you
really expect differently from a TV-movie?
Pick this one up on eBay, it is so worth it.
