When six people get into a car crash on a small country road, four of
them decide to go into the forest to see if they can find help. When
they finally reach a small cabin, happiness start spreading amongst the
four, but in a couple of minutes their happiness will turn to fear as
the cabin they just stumbled into belongs to some redneck cannibals.
Since the plot sounds kind of similar to Hell's Highway's plot, I was
almost certain that this would be another 2 in 1 year movie, you know
like when Armageddon came out there was also Deep Impact and the same
with Scary Movie and Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Summer, always
one more successful than the other, so I just figured that this was
the successful one out of the two. Well, I guess I was wrong, while
the plot sounds kind of similar to Hell's Highway's, the movie is
completely different. While this was a bit more suspenseful, I felt
that this tried to copy Just Before Dawn more than Hills Have Eyes.
The cast is very well put together. Almost all actors can be recognized
from some new horrormovie, we have Desmond Harrington from Ghost Ship
and The Hole, we have Eliza Dushku from Soul Survivors, we have
Jeremy Sisto from May and we have Lindy Booth from American Psycho 2.
They all do an excellent job here and it's surprising that a movie
with a cast like this doesn't get a wider release. The directing is
also very good and Rob Schmidt sure seems to know what he's doing.
Everything about the movie looks good in fact, the colours are sharp
and have a nice contrast which is a real treat for the eye and the
scenery is just perfect and sometimes even beautiful.
This movie is nothing that we're used to seeing on the big screen
these days and I'm actually quite amazed that it even got a theatrical
release at all, perhaps this can be the beginning of retro horrormovies,
I sure wouldn't mind that. If I would have seen this without knowing
anything about it, I might even have thought that it was from the early
80's, the only thing that doesn't fit in is how the teens look.
I am very happy to say that I loved this film and I can't wait to
buy it on DVD, thank you for bringing us this excellent horrorfilm.

How the hell did this get through the MPAA!? We get an axe in the
stomach, a really cool decapitation, one gets the head almost snapped
off, but only almost with a wire, one gets an arrow through the head
and another one gets it through the body, some cool dismemberings are
here aswell, a cut off ear and a severed leg for example. Very gory.

Nothing very impressive, mostly pop music and some drums here and
there, it did the job but nothing more.

People who say that this movie isn't for everybody are wrong in my
opinion. I mean, the MTV generation will like the teens, the gore-
hounds get enough gore to get around and the ones that don't like
modern horrormovies will see that this actually isn't like a modern
horrormovie but more of an 80's backwoods movie. I loved it and I
recommend it strongly to any kind of horror fan.
